Contest Winner Alicia Gets MOXIFIED

Today was absolutely amazing! My contest winner, Alicia, got her free make over at Moxie Salon and I am so happy that I got to be apart of this.  This was the first time I got to meet one of my blog & instagram followers (that I don't know personally) and it made me feel so great to know that I was doing something to help make her feel wonderful about herself. She's a beautiful person both inside and out and we were all so happy that we picked her as our winner.  She truly deserved a day of glam. She brought her daughter to the salon and they even did her hair too!  So here are some before, behind the scenes, and after photos of Alicia's fabulous new look courtesy of the amazing staff at Moxie!

Stars & Stripes

Happy 4th of July!!  Whatever you are all up to today, I hope that you have a great time.  I just wanted to do a quick post for this occasion :) 

 When I went to Forever21 yesterday I found these shorts and fell in love with the stars and stripes pockets hanging out so I knew they would be perfect for today.  I just paired it with this micro tank from Target and these red shoes.  Also added a red lip as the final touch.  I'm wearing this handmade bracelet from Wrist Gems.  It has a peace sign on it and I love it.  The girl also sent me a few others that I will wear soon.  If you are interested to purchase anything from her send her an email: ALeeLee805@aol.com

The BEST "accessory" though is my little pup Kiko!  He is rocking his American Flag tee.  So happy I got to take pics with him today for this post!

High Waisted Shorts & DIY Bandeau

I wanted to try something a little different, creative and funky today.  I was going through some of the older pieces in my closet and this is what I came up with.

I had this long tank that I recently cut the straps off and have been using as a slip.  A few weeks ago, this girl that I follow on instagram posted photos of a DIY bandeau with a tube top.  So I tried it out today and I really like how it came out!  You basically take the top and fold it in half on the inside then tie it in the middle with some sort of ribbon or string.  I used a head band!  I didn't want to show too much stomach so I adjusted it and only showed the middle center part.  

I paired it with these high waisted shorts that I got last year at Forever.  To kind of give it a "geek chic" look, I put on my nerdy glasses and this hat that I got a couple of months ago.  I'm also using an older shoulder bag from H&M and I put studs on the strap.  

My accessories are my Michael Kors watch, Juicy Couture ring, and this Fancy Made bracelet.  I've got on my peep toe platforms too and Full Speed from MAC on my lips to throw in a little color.  I went back to Moxie Salon yesterday to switch the color of my extensions so instead of having black it blends in more with the ombre.  I love it so much more now!

Moxie Make Over Winner!

Lime Love

Hello beauties!  Another weekend is coming to a close but I'm just happy that we had such beautiful weather.  I'm heading out soon but wanted to get this post up before.  I've had this top for a couple of weeks and I have been trying to figure out how I wanted to style it.  I'm happy with how it all turned out and hope that you like!

I bought this top from a fellow fashion blogger Melanee.  I fell in love when she posted the photo and I knew that I needed to get it.  I love the collar embellishment detail and the shoulder cut outs.  This is also a great color for summer.  I even had a lime bra to wear underneath so it was meant to be. 

I decided to pair it with this skirt that I purchased last summer from Forever21 and never wore.  It was literally $5.  I wanted a dressy but still kind of laid back look so I tucked the top into the skirt in the front but let it hang out in the back.   I bought these Zara shoes this weekend on sale.  I don't wear much silver and I've always looked for silver shoes in the past so I really wanted to get these.  I love the t-strap style and they really pop with this outfit.   

This clutch was also a perfect match for this ensemble.  It was a recent gift from my mom.  This is the 2nd amazing clutch that she has found for me at TJ Maxx.  I love that it's color blocked.  I went with simple silver accessories and a pink lip.
