Christmas In The City

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas!  The holidays are always bittersweet for me without my dad, but I am so thankful for my mom, sister and the rest of my family.  We always manage to still make it special for one another.  For the past two years, my sister and I have taken my mom into NYC to see the tree and have dinner.  My mom never goes into the city unless we take her, so she definitely acts like a tourist every time we go haha.  I had so much fun taking photos of everything and just wanted to share it with all of you.  New York during the holiday season is truly amazing. This was from Christmas Eve, and tomorrow I'll be sharing what I wore on Christmas Day :)

It was so cold so I tried my best to keep warm in this printed LuLu's coat and these extremely comfortable boots that I got as a Christmas gift from my mom.  After walking around the city for awhile, not once did I complain that my feet hurt :) I hope you liked the photos loves!  It was definitely a memorable and fun night.  My family is everything to me.  As I've gotten older, I have definitely realized what matters most and they will always be number one on my list.
Have a great day.

Christmas Eve: Red & Silver

Merry Christmas Eve!  I can't even believe that it's already here.  I'll be heading into the city with my mom and sister to see the tree and have dinner.  I think it's becoming our Christmas tradition now.  I plan on taking lots of photos like last year so I can share my family time festivities on the blog :)

Dress: OASAP (here) c/o / Shoes: Aldo (here on sale)
Clutch: (old) Mandee/ Rings: Fredia Rothman (gifted)
Thigh Highs: Victoria's Secret (here)/ Lipstick: MAC Russian Red

Red dress, red lips, red nails... might be a little much for some but since it's the holidays, why not go all out?!  I promise to start switching up my lipstick shades again, I have just been having a moment with red this time of year :) My favorite part about this dress is the silver detailing on the neckline.  It basically serves as a necklace which is great.  It didn't really pick up in photos but there is such a pretty floral jacquard print on the dress.  It's super girly and perfect for Christmas festivities.

I've been searching for a pair of silver pumps for what seems like forever.  I originally saw these online on cyber Monday and was very tempted to make a purchase, but I decided not to get them.  While I was doing some last minute shopping over the weekend I decided to try them on and fell in love.  I fell in love even more when I found out that they were on sale for $38.  These are the same shoes as the black ones I posted yesterday.  I basically got both pairs for less than the cost of one pair!  Now that's my kind of deal. This is my only silver clutch as of now so I decided to use it again for this look.  I really like the red and silver combo for the holiday season. And aren't these stackable rings beautiful?  My friend recently started working for Freida Rothman and they sent these over as a holiday gift.  Thank you Jaclynn

Wishing all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas!  I hope that you all enjoy this special day with your loved ones and get everything that you wanted.  Sending lots of love your way.

NYE Inspired: Sequins Season

'Tis the season for sequins and all things sparkly.  With 2014 creeping up on us next week, I wanted to make sure to get in at least one New Year's Eve outfit idea on the blog. I wore this to an event last week but might end up wearing it again for NYE!

Dress: Dynamite (here) c/o / Shoes: Aldo (here on sale)
Slip: Victoria's Secret (similar)/ Clutch: (old) Mandee (love this)
Lipstick: Urban Decay 69

This is my first full sequin dress and I am obsessed!  I love the flower detailing and long sleeves.  It's super classy but still has sex appeal and I think it's the perfect dress to ring in the new year.  It's also on sale right now for $60.  Since the dress itself is a statement piece, I wanted to keep the rest of my look simple.  When searching for a pair of shoes, I found these sparkly black ones at Aldo on sale for only $38 (marked down from $80) I ended up getting them in silver too.  They're a great special occasion shoe for sure.  Yay for holiday sales! And I of course added a red lip which has literally become part of my daily makeup routine lately.

Even though you can't see it, I have on a cupped shaping slip underneath.  It's the perfect solution for unlined dresses so that you can't see any underwear lines.  It also tucks everything in to help shape your figure a little bit more.  The one that I got comes with a built in a bra.  In all honestly, I never wore slips before.  But when I fell in love with this dress, I knew that I needed to find one because I was not about to go commando HAHA! If you are looking for a great slip, I highly suggest this one from VS.  Unfortunately, I can't find it on the website but it's in stores.  It was $68 but definitely worth the purchase!

NYE is the day to go all out!  Try something different that you wouldn't normally wear :)
On another note, I need to go and finish up some last minute Christmas shopping now (yikes!)
Have a great day loves.

Plaid Suit & Tommy Hilfiger Display

This is my last post for my holiday campaign with Tommy Hilfiger and I finally get to reveal my mannequin with you all!  I hope that you have enjoyed the posts and I appreciate every single person who went to the store to see my display.  For this last look, I took my love for plaid to another level :)

Blazer (here) & Pants (here): Tommy Hilfiger c/o
Top: Target/ Shoes: Charlie By Mz
Necklace: Capwell (gifted)/ Bag: Phillip Lim x Target

I wore the blazer and pants separately already, so I wanted to show that you can also wear them together to create a plaid suit.  I love pieces like this because they're extremely versatile.  It's kind of been a plaid theme on the blog all week and I didn't do that intentionally, but I guess it really shows how much I am loving it especially in this green and navy color combo.

I decided to keep it basic with a black top, shoes and bag but wore this necklace to make the green in the print pop a little more.  A suit like this is a huge statement outfit because it's really bold, however it's not over the top.  It's really chic and trendy and you could wear it to so many different places too.  I really wanted to show how you can get the most use of these pieces.

These are just 3 different ways to style them, but of course there are many more options.  The theme with all of these looks was a red lip!  I just love how it pops against the print.

And now for my mannequin and some special pics from my display....

Surprise Surprise!  I styled her in the plaid suit and she looks better in it than me!  The only difference is the top which has a pretty ribbon and this green bag that I was obsessed with.  I love how the bag pops against the plaid print.  I also put some sunglasses on her to give her that cool factor :) I didn't decide to wear the plaid suit until a week or so after I styled the mannequin so unfortunately I didn't have the same top but I still made it work with other pieces that I had at home.  I am so petite so if I was a little taller, the suit would have been a little more fitted on me but I still love it!

These are all the amazing signage that they made for my display: a banner next to the mannequin, a sign on the rack with all my top picks, and special hang tags for all the pieces on my rack!  This was such a fun and awesome experience and I am so happy that I was able to be apart of it.  A huge thank you goes out to everyone at the Tommy store at the Garden State Plaza.  Everyone was so helpful throughout this entire project.  And a special thanks to Sandra and Francesca for setting this whole thing up and working with me this past month.

I hope you all enjoyed this holiday project! Thanks so much for taking the time to check it out :)
Happy Weekend dolls.
